Now once you order your Medifast products, here are some simple Do’s and Don’t to follow when on the program. And remember, your health advisor will contact you to make sure you are following the guidelines and your are on your road to good health and a slim new-?YOU!
1. Make sure that out of your 5-6 (4-5 on Modified plan) products you are having, at least 3 of them are shakes.
2. Make sure you are having 3 of your meals by 2:00 p.m.
3. Eat every 3-4 hours and never go over 4 hours.
4. Eat slowly! It should take a minimum of 15 minutes to finish your meal. Try using a straw for the shakes and cutting the bars into small pieces to help you to slow down while eating.
5. Drink a lot of water. Minimum of 64 oz.
6. Do not eat any extra carbohydrate foods! Just one slice of bread or piece of fruit can put you out of ketosis (the state at which your body burns stored fat as energy).
Once you are out of ketosis you will lose the benefits of being in ketosis which includes having energy, not feeling hungry, reduced cravings and minimal loss of muscle mass.
7. Use the G?free foodsG? as snacks if needed. Celery (up to 3 stalks), bouillon, Medifast crackers, diet drinks, small green salad, dill pickle, etc.
8. Once you get to your goal weight, start your Transition Plan.
9. To keep your weight off, follow our Success for Life plan. Include 2-5 of our products (shakes are best!) along with at least 2 regular healthy meals each day. Medifast products are a great snack product! By incorporating them into your diet, you will successfully keep your weight off!
10. Enjoy your healthier life! Exercise at least three times a week. Walking is a great way to stay in shape and keep stress levels low!
